Welcome to the 2010 Castle Hill Show. Once again we hope to bring to you an interesting and fun experience on your visit to the show.
This is our 124th show and to be able to be in this position requires a lot of hard work and effort by judges, stewards, members and exhibitors. I thank you and hope you all have a successful show.
One of those hard workers was Ms June Smith who passed away in the latter part of 2009. June was a Life Member of the Society and a former Show Secretary. June and the late Past President Aub Juleff were the reason for the success of our Education Section. She has left a great legacy for the Show.
The Show Society was successful in obtaining a grant under the State Government’s Community Building Partnership Program coordinated through our Local Member for Castle Hill Michael Richardson. With the addition of funds from the Society, you will hopefully see new display cabinets in the Craft Pavilion. The Craft Section is one of the most visited and supported sections of the show. To see so many of the outstanding creations in new exhibition cases is well worth a visit.
The Craft Section is also the home of our Home Brewing Competition, which has had a huge increase in entries under our new format. The competition is conducted in November each year and the results are on display at the show. Definitely worth a look.
The Castle Hill UTEZ Muster is back again following the entries and interest they showed last year. They can be found on Saturday on the Showground Road terraces. The winners will begin the Main Arena where they provided such a feature last year.
So I hope you all enjoy the show, which is brought to you through the commitment of a hard working executive and committee which I thank for their effort and dedication.
Have a great 124th Castle Hill Show.
Peter Gooch, President
